The trade mission kicked off in Atlanta, where King Willem-Alexander opened the new refrigerated warehouse of NewCold, a Dutch logistics company. During this event, Rob spoke one-on-one with the royal couple, highlighting Gaston Schul's critical role in the logistics supply chain. He emphasised the importance of the company's independence in the market and discussed its growth potential and ambitions in Europe. The discussion also touched upon the collaboration possibilities in the Georgia area, particularly in Atlanta and the Georgia Port in Savannah. "It was interesting to see and discuss the enormous interest of the Dutch royal couple, in these subjects," remarked Rob.

Roundtable discussion on supply chain resilience

As a member of the TLN delegation, Rob participated in a roundtable discussion centred on the theme of 'Resilience in Supply Chains'. This platform provided an opportunity to exchange insights and strategies for building robust and adaptable supply chain networks.

Visiting the Georgia port in Savannah

The delegation then proceeded to Savannah, where they toured the Georgia Port, the third-largest seaport in the United States. Discussions revolved around hinterland connections and sustainability, two crucial aspects of modern logistics operations.

Networking reception at Telfair Museum

The trade mission concluded with a reception at the Telfair Museum, hosted in honour of the royal visit. This event served as an excellent platform for networking discussions between Dutch and U.S. companies, fostering potential partnerships and collaborations.
