Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Innovation
- Develop and execute a forward-looking IT strategy aligned with customs regulations and industry trends.
- Lead digitalisation initiatives that streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
- Invest in data-driven technologies to strengthen decision-making and risk management.
2. Technological Advancement
- Assess and implement new technologies such as cloud computing, API management, and advanced data platforms.
- Ensure robust and scalable IT infrastructures that meet the demands of a 24/7 customs environment.
- Drive innovation in scanning and detection methods, focusing on automation and cybersecurity.
3. Leadership and Collaboration
- Build a high-performing IT team and guide them to achieve excellence in a complex, data-intensive environment.
- Collaborate with operational teams to modernise and harmonise customs processes.
- Represent Gaston Schul in European and national initiatives, ensuring our IT strategy aligns with international contexts.
4. Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with European and national regulations, including the Union Customs Code (UCC).
- Develop a proactive approach to managing IT and data risks while ensuring robust security measures.
